| Yet another wonderful blog to share - this was very heartwarming.SOMETIMES GATHERING'S GIFTS COME PACKAGED...You all know how I love to gather.I will gather anytime...on my way to pick up Chinese around the corner, while out walking the dog...Any opportunity I can find to gather, I will.It is not only because in the wintertime I like to have a nice store of wood for my my fireplace, but it is also because it is therapeutic for me. Last night I was gifted in a really cool way.While out walking the dog as I do each night, following my usual path, I saw some sticks, neatly stacked, on the side of the road.I stopped and looked at them and they weren't stacked...they were bound together.Someone had set them out for the garbage.I live in a very strict area and the least little thing will get you cited, etc.So I guess in order to have the garbage man pick up sticks and such, they must be bound. |
| I live in a very strict area and the least little thing will get you cited, etc.So I guess in order to have the garbage man pick up sticks and such, they must be bound.Or maybe the person who set them out knew that someone would appreciate them and made the job easier for me?I'm not sure, but I simply reached down, picked them up by the binding and carried them home.I just need to cut the binding free tonight and stack them in my basket.They are a nice size so they will burn well come winter.Sometimes gifts just fall into your lap and I am grateful for the warmth these sticks will provide.Oh and I saw my first frog of the season last night--almost stepped on him!If?you have read my book of superstitions, Olde Worlde Magic - Superstitions and Lore then you will know that I consider frogs a very good luck omen for me!Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc |
