| Here I was on Mother's day eve, walking around the store looking for something to express my appreciation of being a mother.?A card or gift to give to my two sons and their father to show THEM how grateful I am to have been?chosen to do the honors.?This is so?typical of a mother.?Endless is the need to keep the people we love aware of the extreme emotion this love of ours?carry.?So intense, that it's not unusual for us to feel overwhelmed with the urge to kiss, hug, and even stare at them almost constantly. |
| So intense, that it's not unusual for us to feel overwhelmed with the urge to kiss, hug, and even stare at them almost constantly.Not to make motherhood into an imbalanced account?of always???'good stuff??'overflowing like a lovely fairytale or a carefully written television show made to give us the 'feel good' vibe, but if I'm being honest about it, I can confidently say that even through the tears and disappointments that are a common occurence and necessary side effect of parenting, there is no drug?available?that can rival?the feeling you get from the hugs, smiles, silly games, goofy personalities, accomplishments, and general sense of comfort that comes with being mama.It is the knowledge of that fact that was?the?motivation that had me in the store looking for a gift to show my family how and why I love being mom and wouldn't change it for the world.? |
| It is the knowledge of that fact that was?the?motivation that had me in the store looking for a gift to show my family how and why I love being mom and wouldn't change it for the world.?And as disappointed as I was to see that they have no 'mother's day' card to show how?we appreciate?BEING mama, it was with a twinge of humor that I realized that this is the very necessary?reason why there is no such card available on this day, because truth be told, most of us who cherish this position would never get a chance to feel so appreciated because we'd be too busy looking to EXPRESS that?same appreciation as opposed to receiving it.Dont blame us.?It's just how we're made...guess we'll have to just wait for father's day to find an appropriate?card..? |
